I've been a memoir-writing coach for 18 years now. One of the most common errors I see happens when people try to write scenes.
In fact, most people don't even truly know what a scene is. They tell me they are turning in a scene but what I'm actually getting is just a chunk of writing.
A scene has three attributes that make it a scene. And knowing the main event rule is key to creating plot in your book.
